Combustion #2 Music Progress 5

Today we started looking at the transition into part B. This part of the song was designed specifically with the lyrics in mind. With our orchestration, we wanted the strings to be a representation of frustration. Right on the downbeat of part B, they explode with a tense chord, and build tension (we used a tremolo effect for this) until they leave. Right after this, there will be a short pause that will move immediately back to a modified version of part A (where the instruments will be relaxed again, glad to be at home).

We removed the cellos from the beginning part because we are saving those for a return to the A section.

I always listen back to the recording after uploading it to post here. It gives me a fresh take on what has recently been done. After listening back this time, I think the strings are too overpowering, and sound a bit harsh. That would make sense though, because it was the very last thing we worked on today. That will the next thing we focus on during our next writing session!

As always, you should have a listen!
